Ideation & Implementation

The design process for Zencure began with creating initial mockups using paper sketches. This hands-on approach allowed the team to rapidly brainstorm and iterate on various design ideas.

Once the core concepts were established, these sketches were transitioned into Figma, where detailed and interactive prototypes were developed. Figma enabled precise adjustments and facilitated collaboration among team members, ensuring the final design was both user-friendly and aligned with the project's goals.

This thorough design implementation laid a solid foundation for the subsequent development phases, contributing to the platform's intuitive and efficient user interface.

User Research

User research revealed key challenges patients face with traditional healthcare booking systems. Many find the interfaces clunky and difficult to navigate, especially on mobile devices, making it hard to book appointments. Zencure solves this with a streamlined, mobile-friendly UI, allowing users to complete tasks within three clicks.


The platform also simplifies appointment booking into a three-step process: selecting a doctor, choosing a time, and confirming the appointment. To address issues with appointment management and follow-ups, Zencure offers in-app tools for rescheduling, cancellations, and follow-up bookings, along with optional email reminders. Additionally, a dedicated messaging section enables direct communication with healthcare providers, ensuring patients get answers without unnecessary delays.

ZenCure conceptualizes and launches a comprehensive digital healthcare solution featuring a landing page to provide patients with essential clinic information and access points. It includes a Patient Portal for managing patient interactions, appointment booking, and payments, a Doctor’s Portal for streamlined prescription issuance and enhanced doctor-patient communication, and a Dispensing/Pharmacy Ordering Portal to facilitate medication ordering and dispensing, all integrated seamlessly.

The technology stack comprises React JS, Next JS, Axios, Cliniko, and AWS Cognito for the Patient Portal; React JS, Next JS, Axios, and AWS S3 for the Doctor’s Portal; Express, Typescript, PostgreSQL, AWS S3, and AWS Cognito for the custom backend; and React JS, Next JS, and Shopify API for the Dispensing Portal. Robust security measures, including AWS Cognito for secure user authentication, ensure compliance by minimizing the storage of sensitive information directly on the platform.
